My BlackBerry or iPhone goes… “Ring ring.”
Voice on the other end: “Hi, I’m with XXX bank and we would like to offer you… credit card… bla bla… Something something…”
I really don’t like to get calls like that, and I’m sure you’ve received a fair few too. As saavy consumers are spending more on the streets, Credit cards are getting increasingly competitive. So, when FRANK by OCBC sent me an email explaining their special services, I was frankly more unfeeling than a cold fish.
And then I saw this.
FRANK BY OCBC IS… a brilliant bank concept developed to reach out to the Gen-Y generation. The bank looks more like a hangout cafe than an office, the Marketing collateral is like a mirror to our young souls, cards come in 130 customised designs, and the colourful contrast doesn’t just end with its outside appearances. FRANK is a brand new way to bank, simply because we (the younger ones) don’t scrimp and save the way our old folks do. We are different from our elders and parents, and our spending as well as saving habits are completely changed too.
My Grandfather lives with us and he said this to me the other day, as I lazily purchased his haircare necessities through the internet instead.

Oh crap! What do I know? Many of my purchases were actually made ONLINE.
According to the Visa eCommerce Consumer Monitor 2012 survey, 90% of Singaporeans say they will make online purchases in the next 12 months, and young adults surveyed allocate an average of 15% of their monthly disposable salary for online shopping. Whoops, I didn’t realise how much stuff I was buying online until FRANK pointed it out. #TruthHurts

1) 6% rebate with FRANK by OCBC
2) For ONLINE purchases
3) Highest rate offered in the market
4) Customers would receive 6% rebates (capped at S$60)
5) An unlimited 0.5% rebates on all other spends (ie offline purchases)
6) Simply by spending S$500 or more per month.
S$500 is easy to spend online. In fact, you’re probably already spending it and not getting rewarded for it.

ASOS S$300/150 GDP GIFT VOUCHER CONTEST CLOSED. So here’s the deal!
1) I used a random number generator to get a number from 1-100, (because I don’t think I had more than a 100 entries), and the NUMBER it gave me was 33.
2) I started with my Facebook account, I had 16 legit entries that qualified here. On Twitter, I had 15 legit entries. This brings me to a total of 31 ENTRIES.
So I went back to my Facebook shares and scrolled to the top of my ‘shares list’, to count the 2nd person from the top.
